One-Way Glass, also known as one-way viewing glass, one-way mirror, or one-way reflective glass, is a type of specialty optical glass with a very high reflectance ratio for visible light. This product achieves one-way visibility by depositing an extremely thin layer of metal or metal oxide onto the glass surface, utilizing differences in light intensity. Under specific lighting conditions, when viewed from the brighter side, the glass exhibits a mirror-like reflection, making it impossible to see the scene on the other side; however, when viewed from the darker side, the scene on the brighter side can be clearly seen. This “one-way visibility” characteristic gives it significant practical value in privacy protection and covert observation. One-way glass is widely used in interrogation and identification rooms within the judicial system, counseling and observation rooms in medical institutions, and dance studios in educational institutions, among other settings. With technological advancements, modern one-way glass not only provides one-way visibility but can also incorporate processes such as tempering, laminating, and insulating glazing to offer multiple functions including blast resistance, sound insulation, and thermal insulation. Its manufacturing processes primarily include vacuum magnetron sputtering and chemical silver plating; among these, vacuum magnetron sputtering has become the mainstream method due to its strong film adhesion and excellent stability.

Classification by Structural Type
To meet different safety and functional requirements, one-way glass can be manufactured in various structural forms:
Tempered One-Way Glass: Subjected to physical or chemical tempering, its strength is significantly enhanced; it is primarily used in locations with high safety requirements.
Laminated One-Way Glass: Produced by heat-pressing two or more glass panes with a layer of PVB (polyvinyl butyral) film sandwiched between them. It offers excellent bulletproof, riot-proof, and burglar-resistant properties; even if the glass shatters, the layers remain bonded together to prevent shards from scattering.
Insulated One-Way Glass: Consists of two or more glass panes separated by an aluminum alloy frame, with a dry gas filling the space between them. It provides excellent sound insulation, thermal insulation, and cold protection, making it suitable for buildings with high energy-efficiency requirements.
Classification by Functional Characteristics Standard Type: The most common type, meeting basic one-way visibility requirements.
Anti-glare Type: Anti-glare materials are added to the coating layer to reduce reflective glare on the glass surface and improve viewing comfort from the shaded side; it is commonly used in outdoor environments with intense sunlight.
Radiation-shielding Type: Some products incorporate radiation-shielding materials during the coating process, which can block a portion of ultraviolet rays or electromagnetic radiation, protecting indoor items and occupants.
